At United Floor Coatings, we love transforming outdoor spaces into beautiful, durable areas that homeowners can enjoy for years to come. Our recent project in Waxhaw, NC, gave us the opportunity to revamp both the front porch and back patio of a stunning home using our industry-leading coating systems.

A Fresh Look for the Front Porch – Hybrid Stone Agate Flake Blend

The homeowners wanted their front porch to have a polished, clean look that could also stand up to the elements. After consulting with them, we decided that our Hybrid Stone Agate flake blend was the perfect choice. This particular blend combines shades of cool grays and subtle earth tones, creating a refined yet inviting entrance to the home.

The installation process began with a thorough surface preparation to ensure long-lasting adhesion. We first diamond ground the concrete to remove any imperfections and create a smooth base for the coating system. Next, we applied a moisture-resistant primer to protect the porch from Waxhaw's fluctuating weather conditions.

After the prep work, we installed the base coat and broadcast the Hybrid Stone Agate flakes across the entire porch. The result was a sleek, modern finish that not only complements the home’s exterior but also provides a slip-resistant surface, making it as safe as it is stylish. The final step was sealing the porch with a high-performance topcoat, which adds durability and UV resistance, ensuring that the porch will look great for years to come.

Back Patio Transformation – Hybrid Stone Shale Flake Blend

For the back patio, the homeowners were looking for a finish that would create a cohesive outdoor living space—one that’s perfect for relaxing, entertaining, and enjoying the beautiful North Carolina weather. After reviewing several options, they chose the Hybrid Stone Shale flake blend. This mix of darker grays and muted earthy tones brings a natural, grounded feel to the patio, blending seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.

The installation process for the patio was similar to the front porch, beginning with surface preparation. We once again used our diamond grinding technique to ensure optimal adhesion, followed by the application of our moisture-resistant primer. This step is critical for outdoor installations like this, especially in areas that can experience frequent rain.

Once the prep was complete, we installed the base coat and applied the Hybrid Stone Shale flakes. The darker tones of this blend created a sophisticated look that complements the outdoor furniture and landscaping. To finish the patio, we applied the same protective topcoat used on the front porch, ensuring that the surface will hold up under foot traffic, outdoor furniture, and the elements.

The Perfect Finishing Touch

Both the front porch and back patio turned out beautifully, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the home while providing practical benefits like durability, weather resistance, and slip prevention. The homeowners were thrilled with the outcome, especially knowing their new coated surfaces require minimal maintenance while offering long-lasting protection.

At United Floor Coatings, we take pride in delivering high-quality flooring solutions tailored to the specific needs of each customer. Whether you’re looking to upgrade your garage, porch, patio, or pool deck, our team is here to help you create a space that is both functional and beautiful.

When you are designing a commercial space, it’s critical to understand how the colors, features, furniture, and other details in the room will impact customer experience. The reality is that first impressions are set from the moment someone walks through the door. Every detail can contribute to a positive experience, including the flooring color and materials that you choose. A good design can help your business by influencing the person’s mood, behavior, and decision-making when they are interacting with your company. You want to ensure that each customer has a positive association with your business, which means that you need to choose the colors and features that will set a tone that aligns with your brand. Setting the Mood with Warm or Cool Tones What is the mood that you want someone to feel when they visit your business? The color tones will play a role in their experience: Warm Colors: You can create a sense of excitement, energy, and urgency with warm tones, such as reds, oranges, and yellows. These are the colors that are often used in entertainment venues, fast-food restaurants, and retail stores. Cool Colors: On the other hand, cooler tones promote a sense of calmness and trust. Examples of these colors include blues, greens, and purples. These are the hues that are often used in offices, healthcare clinics , and any type of luxury business. Neutral Colors: Another option is to use neutral hues, such as white, black, gray, and beige. These colors create a professional feeling and sophistication. Neutrals are often used for upscale businesses and corporate settings. The Best Flooring Products for Your Industry In addition to the colors and tones of your flooring, also consider how the patterns and brightness of the flooring have a psychological impact: Lighter flooring colors will make your business feel larger and more spacious. These colors can help customers feel at ease when they are in your building. Darker flooring colors create contrast and add an elegant touch. Even though they make the space feel a little smaller, it can be a benefit if you want to create a more intimate setting. Patterned flooring can be helpful if you want to promote a certain flow for foot traffic. The patterns in the flooring will encourage customers to move in a specific direction. Even though it might seem like a small detail, the design of your floor can have an undeniable impact on the overall experience in your commercial space. Flooring design isn’t only about aesthetics – it’s also a psychological tool that can impact how customers feel when they visit your location.
